Race Announcements!

NOOB Series Update

On behalf of the organizers, thank you all for the wonderful support shown by your participation.

At this point a few important announcements need to be highlighted:

1. Transponder Rental
As mentioned before, rental transponders are limited (we currently have 15). As such, transponders will be set aside and reserved for those who confirm their rental/attendance by paying for the rental/race fee in advance.

- If you are a RCI member and need a transponder, the fee is $10 / race.
- If you are not a RCI member, the fee is $15 which will cover your track fees, race fee and transponder rental.

Please transfer the payment to the following bank account : POSB Savings 048-30691-8
Then PM me directly to confirm your payment and I will update the transponder reservation on this thread.

If anyone has problems with doing a bank transfer but wants to confirm transponder rental, PM me as well.

Any rental transponders still available on race day will be rented out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

2. Maximum Capacity upped to 30!

Registration has been brisk and we're already at 24 participants for our 4WD event. We've decided to increase the maximum capacity to 30 racers so if you are keen to race, don't hold off registration.

3. Race Schedule
Even with so many racers, we're putting in our effort to ensure the race is efficiently run. Currently, the format we are looking at is:

- Heats : Racers will be divided into 3 groups and each group will run 3 5-minute heats
- Mains : Racers will be divided to run A Mains (3 runs), B Mains (2 runs) and C Mains (2 runs)

If time allows we can always add another run for the B and C Mains on actual day.

We're still aiming to keep the entire event to end at 5pm but with a full house there is a chance it may stretch for up to another 30 mins. For this we seek your understanding.

4. Race Attendance
We request that anyone who has registered for this event here will make a commitment not to be absent on race day. With the registration nearing full capacity, signing up without showing up will deprive someone else of a chance to participate.

What's the NOOB series all about? Read on...

Series Objective:
The NOOB Series is designed to grow the off-road RC community by providing an efficient, light-hearted, family-friendly race environment for racers, bashers and newcomers to have fun.

What it is...
  • a bashing session for regulars to enjoy racing without a stressful competitive environment
  • a RC session you can drop by for when you are free and still participate in
  • an opportunity for newcomers to interact and learn from other enthusiasts
  • an activity parents can bring their children down for

What it is not...
  • a hardcore "race" where competition is everything
  • a series that requires you to attend every race
  • an event that requires heavy preparation and lots of expensive equipment
  • a long drawn out race event with long waits and extended periods of waiting
  • a lucky draw opportunity
